The last few days have been rainy, snowy and overcast. Perfect January weather. It's also perfect weather for curling up in a ball on the couch and reading and/or falling asleep.
Lately it seems all I want to do is take naps! But when I try, I can't, for whatever reason.
Have you seen the movie The Trip? Besides it being very funny (with spot-on Michael Caine impressions), it takes place in northern England, namely the Lake District. Seeing where they filmed made me want to travel there, and I would, in a second.
A grey day like today makes me think of England, and when I saw that little mini cooper on the street near my apartment it allowed me to pretend that for a second, I was in England :)
Simultaneously, my dog Mosley sat on the couch next to me and allowed for an impromptu photo shoot:
Hope your Monday is going well.

oh sweet coffee.
So today I took advantage of my free birthday drink. Had I known that this was a regular perk for starbucks registered gift card holders in previous years, this wouldn't have been my first year of having a free drink on my birthday.
Nevertheless, husband and I took a brisk stroll down to our local *buck and presented my free drink voucher. I decided on a venti (yes, venti) Salted Caramel Mocha. I was a bit unsure about how I would like it, as while I do love a good salted caramel, I wasn't sure about if I'd like drinking one. But I was pleasantly surprised with the taste. And can I say that this is probably the last heavy drink I'll have for a while, as I briefly checked the drink's nutritional info before leaving the house and I won't share with you the shocking numbers.
Anyway, I hope you had a great new years eve and day. Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of this blog, and I hope posting will increase in 2012.
And here is a shot of our dog, enjoying the new years festivities.
